Tricare and Insurance
Tricare Humana Military has determined that I meet the eligibility requirements to be an authorized TRICARE provider, classification: Registered Nurse. I am a non-network provider for the East Region. I have the ability to file your claim and NO payment is due at the time of service when service occurs in my office. If you desire a home consultation, payment is due at the time of service and with your medically coded receipt, it will be your responsibility to file a claim, seeking reimbursement from Humana-Military. Humana Military allows for 6 consultations per birth.
I now accept most Aetna insurances (including LSU First) with no out of pocket expense for office visit.
ALL Other Insurances - Many insurance companies do cover lactation care. Prior to your visit please contact your insurance company to identify what breast-feeding support they provide. Your insurance company may require preauthorization and/or a physician referral. Lactation Resource Center is not affiliated with any insurance companies other than Tri-care, so you may need to request a "Provisional" or "Gap exception" from your insurance to receive coverage. After your visit you will be provided with a detailed, coded receipt that you may submit to your insurance company. We do not contact or bill insurance on your behalf, but we do try to make sure you have all the necessary paperwork you may need to submit for reimbursement. We cannot guarantee our services will be covered by your policy, but if you are getting nowhere with your insurance company and you need a script to help you speak with them, one is located in the National Women's Law Center Tool Kit.
